Enmeshed in our values at Rowley Homestead is Wholeness and Health. We care deeply about holistic well being, the whole person – mind, body and spirit.
Today’s guests are increasingly seeking something deeper than premium facilities, elegant design, exclusivity, prestigious locations. They are looking for exeriences that contribute to their wellbeing, foster genuine connection and create a sense of meaning during their holiday. In a world that often feels rushed and transactional, genuine warm hospitality can be restorative and therapy for the soul.
From the outset our aim was (and is) the creation of quiet luxury where peace, privacy and comfort is a given; and warm, genuine service, personal connection is as natural as breathing. It is what we do.
Recently a theme has emerged where guests are mentioning interest in health and diet during long journeys. We care about this too. This sentiment is reflected in our food, beverage and breakfast offerings. We absolutely love cooking with whole foods and seasonal produce, and where possible use produce from our garden. Our house made granolas are made in small batches with whole ingredients; manuka honey or maple syrup. Juices are organic cold pressed, the daily fruit platter is a colourful display of fresh in season fruit, creamy NZ Greek yoghurt with a probiotic, wholemeal sour dough and full grain toast alongside tangy house made citrus marmalade and berry jams. Our chef prepares a different hot meal daily with eggs, avocado, smoked salmon, vegetables, mushrooms, tomatoes all featuring during a guest stay. We cater for dietary requirements also.
Our tap water is pristine, and comes from the underground spring. Marlborough wine – well goes it without saying, is world class, grown and produced in fertile terroir by passionate individuals.

It is our hope that we contribute to guest well being and wholeness in a multitude of ways during their stay.
The homestead interior is a haven to sink into – casual luxury with natural textiles and finishes throughout. It’s easy, comfortable, unpretentious.
Bedroom Suites support deep sleep and melatonin with block out and sheer drape options, low (or no) noise fans and heaters, windows with fly screens – fresh air and zero bugs, bedside lamps focussed for reading. Bedding is natural, breathable and geared for all temperatures; 100% NZ wool blankets, feather filled pillows, natural linen duvet covers, wool duvets inners , cotton sheeting and bedspreads. Bathroom towels are bamboo.
Lighting has been carefully selected throughout – contemporary, beautiful but functional too with options for ambience, time of day and mood.
The sheer natural beauty of our location is one thing, but guests from big cities are blown away by the silence and the thrill of star gazing in a clear night sky.
Early morning birdsong is our natural alarm clock and as we wake to sunrise over acres of parkland, mature trees, garden, grape vines and mountains, early risers can take a moment to contemplate, connect with mother nature.
Guests love the home away from home feeling of Rowley Homestead. Many are enamoured and declare they don’t want to leave! With only 3 suites (max 6 guests) it allows us to be fully present and engage with guests individually. It’s a lovely connection for all. Hosting guests brings enormous pleasure and it is our hope that guests leave feeling rejuvenated, re-connected to themselves. Whole. 🙏
